Iran and put Dubai to rest

VIENNA, Austria (AP) - Iran threatened the United States with "harm and pain" Wednesday if the U.S. tries to use the U.N. Security Council - which has the power to impose sanctions - as a lever to punish Tehran for its suspect nuclear program.

If anyone out there still doesn’t think military action will be needed against Iran, then they need to wake up and smell the yellow cake. These lunatics are hell-bent on getting nukes, and threatening action through the UN is hardly a deterrent (they were watching the whole pre-Iraq war debacle in the UN and learned a lot). Hopefully, we can put an end to this with airstrikes and boots on the ground won’t be necessary, but you never know.

It’s also evident that our actions within the UN are nothing more than us ‘going through the motion’. Raise your hand if you think the UN is going to do something about Iran…didn’t think so. It’s time to dissolve that inept organization. If it can’t prevent a lunatic madman from acquiring a nuclear bomb, then it obviously isn’t much use to the rest of the world.

MORE ON DUBAI

I know I’m beating on a dead camel, but I feel we’ve made a mistake with this ports deal. And this article shows that some American companies may suffer as a result of the actions of our political leaders. Probably not a huge thing, but the article also alludes to the possibility of losing military support as well. These politicians who all want to appear “tough on defense” may have made things that much more difficult for our service members who are actually waging the war on terror.
America will be a better place the day we run every politician out of Washington. These people don’t give a damn about national security or anything else affecting our lives. They care about the votes and nothing more. They are snake-oil salesmen who’d stab their own mothers in the back if polls showed that 51% of Americans supported such action. I’m glad this happened in an election year. Come November, I just may be voting independent.
