Breakdown of the states, and their respective positions on gay marriage

This website posts regular updates on the status of Defense of Marriage

41 states have laws prohibiting same sex marriage, only 9 allow it

18 states have constitutional amendments banning gay marriage

So why is it that our Senators are denying the states, and therefore the people, the right to voice their opinion on this. 82% of the states have agreed to outlaw gay marriage, yet less than half of our elected Senators will agree to allow the states to decide the issue.

Somewhere there is a disconnect between the will of the people and the our US Senators. So, come November, remember this. If there is a disconnect, then it's up to the voters to correct it. So remember these names. Look for YOUR senator on the list.

Kinky Friedman, Jewish entertainer, of sorts, running for Gov in November here in Texas said, "Gay marriage?? Hell, they have every right to be as miserable as the rest of us..."

Kinky will NEVER be Gov of Texas...

Fred, I think Kinky actually had a chance. But I saw that interview and I could almost hear his campaign deflate the moment he let out those words. It sank any chance he had. Some day these people are going to realize that Middle America opposes gay marriage, opposes abortion, opposes illegal immigration, supports the war on terror, and demands action against OPEC.
