Immigration reform in the Texas 24th district

Here is some information for those of you living in Texas in the 24th district for US Congress. This info was obtained at the Americans for Better Immigration website (link can be found on sidebar).

This organization has sent a series of surveys to candidates for office in the House and Senate, and based on their responses they have been categorized into those who support immigration reform and those who don't.

The candidates for the 24th district in Texas are noted.

Kenny Ewell Merchant (R) has NOT met the criteria as someone who supports immigration reform.

Mark Frohman (L) does fit the criteria as a candidate in support of immigration reform

Gary R. Page (D) has not made his position clear.

Do what you will with this information. I hope it helps.

I will continue watching for updates as other candidates across the nation take their positions. The website will continue to support those candidates who choose to take a stand against illegal immigration.

Very interesting, John. Especially as I live in Texas! Thanks. I will have to do some research myself before I go to the polls. I will not vote for a Republican at the state level who is against toughter immigration laws; I doubt if that will hold for me at the National level. I do not intend on doing anything that will risk losing the House and Senate. That would be disastrous. And thanks for stopping by My Republican Blog. :)

Threats, accusations, feigned shock and indignation, bribes, tape, raids, records sealed by Executive order, all the makings of a really good novel, lots of drama...

What I am wondering is this: with Hastert squealing like a stuck pig over records being seized, Bush threatening to have the records sealed for 45 days and Dick Cheney as quiet as a mouse, WHO is hiding WHAT and how far UP the line does it go??

Suppose Rep. William Jefferson (D)La. is just the tip of the iceberg...

Personally, I see some people running scared, it appears that their 'house of cards' is about to tumble in on them, and just 'suppose', for the sake of argument, that the POTUS is involved, and that the REAL reason he wants the records sealed is to give him time to formulate a 'plan' of action, just suppose that's the case, and just suppose that he were to be found 'neck deep' in this BS and he were brought up on charges, found guilty, impeached and removed from office, could that be WHY the POTUS would want to seal these records so quickly instead of seeing Justice carried through...

The line of succession to the Presidency makes Dick Cheney the POTUS...

Who's NEXT in line??

Why, it's Denny Hastert, the Speaker of the House, the one that's screaming the loudest about the FBI and Justice Dept. actually DOING their job and doing it correctly...

Yeah, I know, that's a lot of supposition, but what if it were to come to fruition??

Remember, you heard it here 1st...
