No comment on this story, it speaks for itself. I just wonder if you'll find it anywhere in the mainstream media.

The U.S. military says it has dealt devastating and potentially irreversible blows to Al Qaeda in Iraq in recent months, leading some generals to advocate a declaration of victory over the group, which the Bush administration has long described as the most lethal U.S. adversary in Iraq, the Washington Post reported Monday......FULL STORY

Wonder no longer Doctor. All is revevaled. The Fox News Story to which you thoughtfully supplied a link conatins a link to the entire article that was printed yesterday, Monday, October 15, 2007, in The Washington Post, which most would consider, "the mainstreanm media."

As the article points out, however, some U.S. commanders, including General Petraeus, are urging restraint on the subject of declaring victory over AQI.

Regards.

We would tend to agree with that fine General, David Petraeus.

Osama and Zawahiri's radical departure from Traditional Islam has hitched a free-ride on old Saudi Wahhabi Violence, expanded it into Global Offensive Jihad!

Yes, I was well-aware that the Wash Post printed the story, and I salute them for it. The Wash Post, while part of the MSM establishment, has not been quite as anto-military as NBC, CNN and the NY Times.

And, Reb, I agree that declaring victory is premature and ill-advised. But I think this story says a lot when US military leaders are now talking about victory. This should be all over the country. It's uplifting and good for morale, not to mention damaging to enemy morale. But was it on CNN or NBC or in the NY Times?

I shall keep repeating it until LGK
gets it. Iraq Is One Battleground.
Can Loop point to a better one?

Syria & Hezbollah to the Left of Iraq,

How we separate the Snake Head
from its body should rightfully be
the purview of professionals, not
partisan legislators taking a stab at it

We face a fanatical enemy, that laughs
at our apparent weakness.
We Must Soon Demonstrate That
They Are Dead Wrong About Us.

That Old Warrior was right, of course.

In the Nuclear Age, the more we hesitate, the costlier our inevitable victory in Blood and Treasure.
