And she used to be our Sec of State?

Here is a link to an op-ed piece written by former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. She does an excellent job of summarizing the point of view of the Left, which is why I posted it here. She gives advice to the president on Iraq, and her advice is very telling and can be summed up below in a 3-point plan.
1) Ending tyranny in this world is a fantasy. The US can no longer control events in Iraq, but it can be useful as a referee. This is how she views our troops? As referees? I’m sorry, Maddy, but our troops are killers. They should be used to kill people and destroy things. That’s their job, not acting as a referee. Perhaps if we let them do that job, then we could bring an end to tyranny. It’s also funny how people like her say that ending tyranny is a fantasy, yet they’re still waging war on poverty, hunger and economic disparity.
2) Leave Iran alone. Great idea! A nation of lunatics led by the Head Lunatic who are a breath away from having nuclear weapons should be allowed to go on their way. We need to keeps our noses out of it.
3) Bush’s ‘march of freedom’ is not the big story in the Middle East, so it’s time to start working with different factions to help bring peace to the region. I agree that democracy is not catching on like it should, but is that reason to give up on the notion? Is that reason to sit down at a negotiating table across from killers, tyrants, and dictators? Democracy may never take hold in the Middle East, but we should never use that as a reason to compromise our own principles.
