Olmert accepts

Olmert accepts cease fire

Under pressure from the global community and their criticism of Israel's excessive force, Olmert has agreed to a cease fire. He desires peace and he has clearly grown weary of fighting the diplomatic battles.

Hezbollah still stands, still a threat. But what else could Olmert do? Hezbollah will renew the fight. Maybe not tomorrow or next month, but eventually they will strike again and force Israel to confront them. And once again the UN will criticize their excessive force.

In London, 24 people were arrested on the verge of carrying out a plot of mass murder. Yet, we criticize Israel for killing "innocent" people. Is it me, or is the world becoming more and more Muslim each day?

I salute the Israelis. At least they had the guts to defend their soldiers. Two Americans were kidnapped, tortured and killed just a few months ago...and still we've done nothing.

Is it too much to ask for everyone (even just for a second) to applaud the fact that they've agreed to a cease fire rather than immediately playing the "eventually they will strike again" card? --Deano

I see what you're saying, Dean, but I just don't see a reason to applaud. Once again a terrorist organization has escaped justice. A cease-fire is meaningless as long as Hezbollah still exists and yet another message has been sent that the West will be pressured by the international community anytime they get hard on these groups. It puts us all in danger.
