California Fires that might miss an opportunity for
a political jab in the ribs; it's what inept politicians normally do.
>>
As Katrina rounded the tip of Florida at Cat-Two, she was absolutely certain to increase velocity in 91 degree gulf waters, to Cat 3, Cat 4, Cat 5!

Katrina took five days to reach New
Orleans. Ample time for the Mayor and his Police Chief to organize the yellow school-bus drivers to Alert Status, assemble the Ninth Ward (the below sea-level people),
move the elderly and infirm out of town. Mayor Ray Nagin was... The "First Responder"!

Instead, he watched Katrina from his suite, four days on Tv, and on the final day he shoved 15,000 poor & elderly into the Saints Football Stadium to be victimized, robbed and raped by armed street thugs!

The nation saw over ninety yellow
school buses, unmoved and sinking in their parking area!

Gulfport, Mississippi had similar problems; they handled the disaster
in a professional manner, and it went quite well for them.

Different State, Governance, and
Mayor! Now, I must point out that a tragedy is a tragedy, all people deserve to be safe and are equally affected by a tragedy such as this. I find it interesting, however, that the Gulf Coast is still struggling beyond belief after being struck by Katrina, yet when million-dollar homes in wealthy regions of California are destroyed, there is such an urgency to send help. There are thousands of people who STILL need help on the Gulf Coast--people who are not able to revive their own livelihoods because they were barely getting by before their homes were destroyed. I also don't think it's a political move at all to point out that our ability to respond with our National Guard is diminished because of the war, because frankly, it is the truth. I have noticed, John, that you are very good at taking offense to things that are true, but that you disagree with. This is the reality we are facing. This is how we prioritize in our country. I, for one, don't think it's right. I don't think that one situation deserves less than the other, they deserve to be treated equally and that is NOT what is taking place.Allisoni Ballonihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08608708376641239168noreply@blogger.com
